As we transition into the new work order and manage the complexities of our current environment, mastering the fundamentals of great management and leadership is essential to guide teams successfully through periods of dynamic change.
This 4-week program is designed to rapidly develop the fundamental skills required to take management and leadership capability to the next level. Intentional Leadership™: Essentials supports leaders to manage and lead teams in varying contexts, combining facilitated learning, online study, profiling, leadership coaching, mentoring and workplace projects for long-term real-world impact.

We won’t leave your development up to guesswork. We use 2 diagnostic tools to determine your baseline skills and behavioural preferences before you begin and measure your progress after the program.

Ongoing support in your role
As well as the support provided during the program, facilitators will connect with you after the sessions to provide one-on-one coaching, helping create a clear action plan for your future.
For those relatively new to managing, those stepping into leadership roles for the first time or even experienced manager looking for a refresher, Leadership Essentials has something for everyone.
The virtual sessions will step through elements from the IML ANZ Competency Framework including relevant topics focusing on self-management, leading individuals and teams and finally keeping momentum when things get tough.

Auckland
Cheryl has been a senior leader and consultant for many of New Zealand's blue-chip organisations, including Auckland Tourism Events & Economic Development, NZTE, Manukau Institute of Technology, NZ Post and TelstraClear and has worked in a wide range of sectors. A consulting career highlight was establishing Auckland Transition Agency’s project office - the organisation charged with creating Auckland Council.
Cheryl is passionate about the human side of change management, supporting clients to find alignment between their personal and professional lives. She facilitates the understanding of barriers and inner workings allowing clients and their employers to realise their full potential and “bring their whole selves” to work. Her passion for neuroscience, story, emotional literacy and mindfulness allows her to support deep reflection and change.
Auckland
Jon is a transformer of leaders, teams and workplaces and a facilitator of growth, development and change. He has extensive private and public sector experience in operational delivery, organisational change, personal performance and team development in Europe, USA, Australasia and the Far East. His energetic and collaborative facilitation style is both supportive and challenging. He likes to encourage innovation, creativity and opportunistic change management. In New Zealand, Jon has led significant change projects and activities in the public sector including merging the Auckland City and Auckland Regional Councils and rolling out a new customer-centric culture program across 44 sports and leisure centres in 2017. He has consulted with, and led training in, contexts as diverse as intellectual disability services, Fire and Emergency NZ, glasshouse horticulture, and the NZ Police service. Jon was also involved in prisoner rehabilitation and fostering the potential and independence in those with intellectual disabilities.
